Need To Schedule Your Annual Eye Exam?

Our office follows the medical and vision care recommendations set forth by the American Optometric Association (AOA). Routine eye exams are every bit as important as routine medical exams because issues that affect the eyes are often linked to underlying health conditions and can affect your overall wellbeing.  Time flies and it’s easy to miss an annual eye exam if you don’t update your calendar.

AOA Guidelines for Routine Vision & Eye Care Exams

Patient age (years)
Asymptomatic/low risk
Birth through 2
At 6 to 12 months of age
3 through 5
At least once between 3 and 5 years of age
18 through 39
At least every two years
40 through 64
At least every two years
65 and older
Annually
An annual record of your eye and vision health is the best way to benchmark any developing vision loss and to catch the first signs of potential eye conditions before they become more severe.

Comprehensive Eye Care Means We Go the Extra Mile

Our all-female team of eye doctors knows that the eyes are connected to the rest of your body. Issues with vision or any existing eye conditions can affect other aspects of our patients’ wellbeing, which is why we always go the extra mile to identify and treat both the eye condition as well as any underlying health or physical conditions that may co-exist.

When you and your Sand Springs family choose Eye to Eye as your primary vision care provider, we:
  • Keep your glasses and contact lens prescriptions up-to-date and make sure they are fitted properly for optimal vision
  • Make sure you have the education and information you need to make the best decisions for your care and treatment
  • Partner with your healthcare provider(s) when necessary to streamline the information feed as well as your treatment recommendations and healthcare appointments
  • Identify lifestyle, diet, or exercise choices that optimize your eye health as well as your overall physical wellbeing.
  • Prescribe and manage any drops or medications required to support eye health
  • Track upcoming appointment dates and send you timely reminders to your preferred contact number or email address
Pediatric Eyecare

Book Your Child’sBook Your Child’s  First Eye Appointment

Children are often overlooked in the eye care routine because it can seem as if they see just fine. In fact, children can have a remarkable degree of vision loss or an undiagnosed eye condition because their brains are such amazing adaptors and they learn to navigate the world around them with dexterous ease.

Time is of the essence with the most common pediatric eye issues because the connection between the eyes and the brain (the optic nerve) is still forming. If we don’t catch things soon enough (such as a lazy eye) the brain will efficiently shut down messaging to one of the eyes and will create a permanent pathway to the strongest eye. This leaves the other eye behind and the effects can be permanent.

Contact us to schedule an eye exam for your child anytime you notice any of the following signs or symptoms of pediatric vision loss:

Lazy eye (one or both eyes is rolling off to the side, top, or bottom of the eye socket)
Winking or blinking to see clearly
Eyes that seem watery or teary when trying to focus
Headaches
Tilting the head one way or the other when trying to look at something close up or at a distance
Reading Struggles
Difficulty changing their focus from near to far
Behavioral disruptions in school that don’t align with their behavior at home
Inability to focus in school or at home when reading/writing materials are in the mix

You’ll be amazed at the transformation that takes place when a child makes the transition from blurred to clear vision.
